Split LARS for heavy-duty ROV, 16 t
  • Split winch and A-frame — Winch and A-frame are installed separately, each rated at 16 t safe working load with a matched dynamic factor of 2.3.
  • 1500 m of 48 mm umbilical — Cable stored in no more than 8 layers; brake load 42 t.
  • A-frame reach — Clear width between arms ≥5.4 m, overboard reach ≥7500 mm, inboard reach ≥5000 mm.
  • Anti-sway unit with ROV clamping — 2000 mm stroke, ±120° rotation, 1.8 m ROV contact surface, ±15° sheave swing and ≥2 t clamping force.

The Split Heavy-Duty ROV LARS separates the winch and the A-frame, so each can be placed where the deck allows rather than on a shared base. Both are rated at a 16 t safe working load with a matched dynamic factor of 2.3.

The winch carries 1500 m of 48 mm umbilical cable in no more than 8 layers, with a brake load of 42 t. The A-frame has a clear width between the two arms of ≥5.4 m, an overboard reach of ≥7500 mm and an inboard reach of ≥5000 mm, with a maximum height from the anti-sway unit to the base of ≥4.5 m.

The anti-sway unit has a 2000 mm stroke and rotates ±120°. The ROV contact surface is 1.8 m in diameter, the sheave swings ±15°, and the clamping force applied to the ROV is ≥2 t. The system is designed and supplied by OCEAN PHYSICS.
